XOXO to you in all the trials and tribulations and laughter and getting lost. You do such a great job of showing us how to squeeze every last drop of love from the hard moments.

Oh Jen, I love your thoughts on family here - "sacred rules of family override those of simple mathematics". In light of that analogy I can't help but think that you have been blessed with a multiplication of family!

I'm rigth there with you putting one foot in front of the other in this tangled, messy life with family and frailties.

Somehow I did not get notified of this. Somehow I had not remained a subscriber. I push buttons I don’t mean to. I loved this so much because of all you packed into it with depth and lightness. As Katie says, the “trials and tribulations” and yet you laugh and see such beautiful thoughts on how the views of the Madonna looking down on passersby speaks of her maternal nature, and how the photographed back views of our loved ones show so much about a moment and the passage of time. I agree with you and absolutely love the back snapshot of your beautiful daughter.

Sending you my best. xoxoxoxo

Wow! That quote! And it’s true isn’t it - that we often forget how we are connected in this web of humanity. Love being connected to you my friend 💕

So many thoughts:

"I wish I was better at this." Not sure there is ever a way to feel like you are doing a good job. Huge hugs, Jen.

"Sacred rules of family override those of simple mathematics." Such a true statement that resonated with me. My mother-in-law has always treated me as another daughter. I wrote a tribute to her on my family Facebook page because she has always made me feel 100 percent loved. I agree with Sue, you are so blessed.

What a gorgeous "back shot" of your daughter!

I will have to check out This Time Tomorrow. It sounds somewhat similar to a book I read and enjoyed last fall after my mom died: One Italian Summer by Rebecca Serle. My mom loved traveling to Italy. It was her favorite overseas destination. The idea of traveling there in her footsteps... The right book at the right time to help me deal with my grief.

Will be thinking of you as you care for your family. Thank you for taking the time to bless us with your words.
