This post resonates so strongly Jenni. I’m a great devotee of St Thérèse of Lisieux and her belief that the most mundane tasks can be elevated to a prayer when they’re offered up to God. When doing something- anything - for loved ones it’s an act of kindness. But doing things that aren’t particularly pleasant (anyone caring for poorly people knows what I mean) is transformed when we offered it up as a prayer of love. It brings dignity and the gentle touch of love to every action. I love your posts. Lee them coming! X

Oh Carmel, that means so much to hear from you, especially, it really does. Thank you SO much for sharing that about St Thérèse—fascinating, extraordinary and wonderful. I've only recently come across the concept of "offering up" things to God in our daily lives—struggles and, as you say, seemingly the most mundane of tasks—and, just before Christmas, discovered St Thérèse "Sacrifice/Good Deeds Beads", designed to help the owner count the small, faithful "acts of love" made during a day (in the little Etsy shop of the Dominican Sisters of St Joseph in The New Forest!). Thank you so much for this thought, and for such kind words of encouragement! It does mean so much. XXOO
